Update List for April 6, 1989 (internal)
1. Combined the ZOO and ARC functions into one function called
COMPRESS.
2. Added support for ZIP, a forthcoming compression utility. Also
reserved judgement on the 4th compression protocol, PAK until later.
3. Combined the ARCV functions into one function called LISTCOMP.
LISTCOMP is smart and will automatically list an ARC,ZOO or ZIP file in
proper format.
4. Added a way to let ZOO compress an entire subdirectory tree by
using its "I" command. This requires that DirUtil write an external
file. This file is user definable. You must add the "I" directive to
your ZOO command string. Use Editconfig to do this.
5. Added five new user definable command strings to DirUtil. Four of
these are for defining how to ZIP/UNZIP/PAK/UNPAK a file. Currently,
only UNZIP is tested. PAK and UNPAK are not implemented. The fifth
gadget is for defining the name of the ZOO command's temporary file.
There is also one unused gadget present for future expansion.
6. The old ARC function gadget is no longer used and is marked
"!UNUSED!".
7. Hitting right mouse button on COMPRESS will do an intelligent
UNCOMPRESS of either an ARC, ZOO, or ZIP file.
8. DirUtil now checks the output volume on COPY commands for a
possible disk full condition before it actually copies a file.
9. DirUtil will now ask if it should continue copying files even after
a file error is discovered in a subdirectory. This allows all good
files to be copied without leaving behind a partial directory
structure.
